An initiative of CORPUCA


The Inter-University Chair for Caribbean Studies (ICCS) is a plan designed and suppo­­rted by the Conference of Rectors of Caribbean Universities (CORPUCA) and members of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). Its main objective is to facilitate development and cooperation in higher education and research among Univer-sity institutions of the Wider Caribbean (Mexico, the countries of Central America, countries and territories of islands of the Caribbean, Colombia, Venezuela, French Guiana, Guyana and Suriname) and with their partners. 

More specifically, the ICCS aims to implement training and research projects; programs to facilitate student mobility at the Masters and Doctorate levels, as well as that of teachers and researchers; support scientific outreach and publication as well as scientific events (symposiums, conferences, congresses, colloquia) on economic, social, cultural and institutional themes in the Wider Caribbean,while promoting:

  • a transdisciplinary perspective
  • inter-institutional and regional cooperation
  • a multilingual and intercultural approach.
